The Faxon Superfinished AR10 Bolt Carrier Group – Gen 2 (Nitride) is engineered for shooters running large-frame AR platforms chambered in .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 8.6 Blackout. Viewing “MIL-SPEC” as the baseline, Faxon refines materials, inspection, and surface finishing to deliver smooth cycling, reliable extraction, and long-term durability.

This BCG features a 9310 tool steel bolt that is fully heat treated, shot peened, and chamfered at the rear of the lugs to promote reliable cycling under high-pressure loads. All bolts are Magnetic Particle Inspected (MPI) to ensure material integrity.

The entire assembly receives a QPQ salt bath nitride treatment to increase surface hardness, reduce friction, and provide excellent corrosion resistance compared to traditional phosphate finishes. Faxon’s Superfinish further reduces friction and fouling for smoother operation and easier cleaning.

Designed to be DPMS Gen 1 compatible, the carrier uses grade 8 fasteners and a fully staked gas key to ensure gas system reliability throughout the service life of the rifle
