Short Shields utilize our Original AR-15 castle nut and the front end of Original Series Handguards to mount. They’re a great option for adding a pop of color to any build. They differ from our Heat Shields by not interfering with the muzzle threads, since they use the handguard to mount instead of the muzzle threads.

Not compatible with Slim Series, Dolos, AR-10 or Breached-Front End(Freedom, Baconator, etc.) Handguards.The short shield is made to slide under handguard and over the 556 castle bolt, and is attached using a end cap. End cap is attached with two screws inserted in the foremost tac rail holes at the 6:00 and 12:00 positions. Handguard length, length of gas tube, and color specification required. Sprocket end cap will accept barrels up to 0.95 in diameter. Short shields only work with our Original AR-15 barrel nut and low profile gas blocks. Other Info: Short Shields: the end caps come in a spiked cap or flat cap  short shields are mounted to the handguard directly via the end cap, rubber grommet, and 2 short shield screws, and secure to the tapped holes in the handguard compatible with muzzle devices not compatible with unbreached handguards (the end cap must lay against a flat edge, so unbreached designs like our “timberwolf”, “ultra light hex” and “freedom” would not work. compatible handguards would be “lotus dragon”, “molon labe” and other flat edge handguards.
Heat Shields: comes with an end cap that threads onto the barrel itself  comes in 2 different size caps (standard and 300 blackout) not compatible with muzzle devices compatible with any of our original series handguards
