The angled serration pattern is cut into the front and rear of the slide and gives you a very firm grip for chambering a round or performing press checks. You also get lightening holes in the front of the slide to reduce the amount of mass coming back when the slide reciprocates. The GGP-17 Version 4 slide also comes with an optics cut which is compatible with the Trijicon RMR and Leupold Delta Point Pro.
